Confused about the term “Cloud Computing”? Want to be “with the times” when you talk about new technology buzzwords? This video boils down a section of Cloud Computing, that of Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Hosting in a way that everyone can understand! Cloud computing really just seems like branded version of utility computing? I can see the advantages, but it really seems this is a business innovation first and a technological one second… I mean, boiling it down its pretty much, “Pay as you go hosting/software/development platform.” imo…. Over-hyped, if you ask me… I’m now waiting for the bubble to burst (mini dot com stylee.)
Great video..thanks a lot
Thanks – a very simple explanation without getting too techie.
Well done, but what is the difference between a Cloud Server vs. “regular” hosting server…
What’s the cloud, you explain it but you don’t say what it is.
@1CloudNinja
Thanks.
It`s a very high level explanation. Really for beginners and non technical people. Nice paper presentation by the way. Interesting way to present the slides.
I agree – there is too much hype about the Cloud and it should not be treated as a silver bullet solution for all IT woes. For a full perspective see “Microsoft’s Yousef Khalidi and Amazon CTO Werner Vogels discus cloud computing” on YouTube @ /watch?v=V_zwvT_CZO0
OR do a web search for “Session SVC20 Bridging the Gap from On-Premises to the Cloud by Yousef Khalidi which is on how to assess whether to have a public cloud, a private cloud or a hybrid solution [regardless of who is providing the cloud i.e. Amazon, SalesForce, Windows Azure]
thanks
Clearly the most over-hyped and absurd “technology” out there. All this artsy video is saying is to throw away your company email server and get a bunch of yahoo accounts and toss your other servers and applications and let them maintain it. First off companies like Verizon and AT&T do a half ass job keeping data circuits up, I would never trust them with applications, also when the government wants to see your data, you will never be told. Other then that it’s a great idea.
Cool. Thank for putting that together. Totally Cloud Computing for idiots.
stop confusing yourselves cloud computing is just a fancy name for what we have been doing for the past 20 years. the difference is that your paying someone to use there servers instead of using your own. basically google has servers and thats what they consider a cloud, thats what you pay for, ‘ to use there servers.”

thank you very very much that was the best explanation about cloud computing on you tube,
but what is green cloud then? how can clouds be green? how do you see the future of green clouds?
what is green cloud then? how green cloud in going to be in the future? how clouds can be green?
@HighT3chDad
@d3athlyd4rk
but they did explain it better than common craft actually
i checked both , but i liked this one more

People already have laptops to do work on . Why would everyone want to slow down work by working live on a network? Network aps are crap. Working on remote files drag. Working locally and uploading makes more sense. Dopping files onto a network on a one time basis rather than continuously waiting fo every keystroke to travel back and forth to networked files using networked aps. It’s a waste of bandwith.
@BaronVonLichtenstein
Will your terrabyte (sic) external hard drive deliver content to a global audience at sub 50ms latency? Will it be able to deliver 10,000+ streams per second? Will your external hard drive replicate data to three or more data centers autonomously? On different continents?
No. No it wont. But Akamai, Limelight, Microsoft, Google and Amazon will. And they’ll bill you only for what you use.
each time i watch a video i get more confused, people have different interpretations
I disliked this,
according from to your video, there are only pros and cons doesnt exist.
but if you really want to explain something, you also have to talk about its issues.
but maybe im just wrong and this technology is nothing else but awesome.
This paperwork video style is really starting to take off. A nice, inexpensive way to make rich videos.
And so it was written in stone, that Pirates will one day take to the clouds. We will meet you at the gates, playing on stolen harps <3
thank you very much. you have explained well.
